The JEE Advanced 2025 results are out, and once again, Kota has delivered a topper. Rajit Gupta, a resident of Mahavir Nagar in Kota, Rajasthan, has secured All India Rank (AIR) 1 with an impressive 332 out of 360 marks. But what makes Rajit’s journey truly inspiring is not just the rank—it’s the way he achieved it.
No Rigid Routines, Just Smart Study
While most JEE aspirants stick to intense timetables, Rajit did things differently. He had no fixed schedule, studied only when he truly felt like it, and focused on quality over quantity.
“I studied only when I felt like it. But whenever I did, I gave it my best,” Rajit said with a calm smile.
This relaxed yet dedicated approach helped him crack one of India’s toughest entrance exams—and with style.
A Perfect Track Record
Rajit is no stranger to academic excellence. He scored:
- 100 percentile in both JEE Main 2025 sessions
- 96.8% in Class 10
- Bronze medal at the Asian Physics Olympiad 2024 in Malaysia
- Selected for Orientation-Cum-Selection Camps (OCSC) in Junior Science, Astronomy, and Physics
Mentorship and Support from Allen Institute
Rajit prepared under the guidance of Allen Career Institute, Kota. He credits his success to the institute’s structured study material and the mentorship he received.
“Allen gave me everything I needed—from guidance to material. I never had to look elsewhere,” he shared.
Mistakes, Not Marks, Were His Focus
Rather than obsessing over marks, Rajit focused on learning from mistakes and strengthening concepts.
“I always made sure not to repeat my mistakes. That’s what helped me build strong fundamentals,” he explained.
Interestingly, Rajit didn’t even check the answer key after his JEE Main attempt.
“My father asked me to check it, but I told him, ‘Papa, don’t worry. I’ll clear Advanced.’”
Balanced Life and Mental Well-being
Rajit believes that staying happy and balanced played a key role in his success.
“Happiness is my secret. I stay cheerful in all situations, and that helped me stay focused,” he said.
He didn’t cut off social interactions either—he played with kids in his colony and used WhatsApp for study-related communication only.
“Just keep practising. That’s the best way to manage your time,” he added.
Strong Family Support
Rajit comes from a supportive and educated family. His father, Deepak Gupta, is a sub-divisional engineer at BSNL, and his mother, Dr. Shruti Agarwal, is a professor of home science at JDB College, Kota.
“Their belief in me made all the difference,” Rajit said with gratitude.
He also swears by the basics: “NCERT is a must for Chemistry. It helps build concepts from the ground up.”
What’s Next?
With JEE Advanced results declared, the next step is JoSAA 2025 counselling, which begins on June 3. Qualified students will compete for seats in IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other top engineering institutes in India.
This year, the cut-off marks for General category students dropped significantly—from 109 in 2024 to 74 marks in 2025. Minimum subject-wise qualifying marks were also lower: just 7 marks in each subject (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) compared to 10 last year.
Final Takeaway
Rajit Gupta’s story proves that success in competitive exams isn’t just about long hours or stress. With the right mindset, consistent practice, strong fundamentals, and a little happiness, even the toughest goals become achievable.
